Your Questions About Bass Fishing Answers

Jenny asks…
how do i become a proffesional bass fisherman?
help me cuz im 16 and am going to start fishing tournaments this fall, pleez be relevant answers

Try to make a college bass team and get known that away
but you need a lot of cash to start.. Cause sponsors don’t come right away. And when your trying to make the tour you have fish everyday or be on the road every day going from lake to lake and prefishing. Also just because you win once don’t think sponsors will come running
my old boss came in second in points on the red man tour and won events too but he decided to have a kid so he left to get a job cause if have a bad year you do not make any money. I want to be pro too but the odds are so small and fishing a club will not get you there need to do flw or bass events.
But the best of luck in becoming the next kvd

First you have to look at the body of water you’re fishing and know what kind of structure and cover it has. Lets say you have a lake with some good bottom structure (drop offs, humps, points), grass mats along some banks, and some vertical timber. Right now its summer, so bass are generally going to be deeper for the biggest part of the day. Lets say its cloudy, slightly windy, and hot as hell on this lake. I’m going to fish points, humps and what have you in 20-30 feet of water, or whatever depth my graph shows they’re on. For me, cloud cover is good for fishing. If its sunny out, I will still hit those points, but if they don’t produce, I’ll hunt around for deep cover (grass beds, brushpiles. The bass will go there seeking some refuge from the sun in many instances. At daybreak during the summer, a lot of bass will have moved into shallower water relating to stuff like sunken roads or even boat ramps. This is a good time to throw topwaters before the sun comes out. If its cloudy, the fish will stay shallower longer and your topwater bite will last longer. In the time after the topwater bite stops and the time that fish go deep, they’ll be somewhere between the two. On our imaginary lake, I’m going to find timber and any kind of structure or cover in around 10-20 ft of water and fish whatever I’m comfortable with. I’m definitely going to be looking for vertical timber in that depth and pitching and flipping jigs and plastics. Keep in mind this is all for the summer. As far as lure selection, you have to figure in water clarity as well. In clear water, stick to your brighter colors in hardbaits, and translucent colors (light will partially go through them) in clear water. The specific shade depends upon the forage that they will be feeding on wherever they are. If the water is muddy, go to your more solid colors that will have a very distinct silhouette in the water. In clear water when its sunny, I’ll definitely go bright colors. Clear water and cloudy, I’ll throw a bright color first, then go darker. Sunny and murky water, I’ll still throw something bright in a hardbait and something dark in a soft plastic. Cloudy and murky, I’m going to darker colors. Sorry for the novel, but it isn’t exactly a simple question.

Michael asks…
what fish can you catch at swanage pier (10 points best answer!!)?
i am planning on going fishing at swanage pier from april through to may, and i am wondering what fish i could catch with a sea fishing rod, and how??? i am looking for mackerel, bass etc.. please help! 10 points best answer
thanks

admin answers:
Fishing Rates
Adult £2.50
Junior £1.00
what can be caught ?…..from the Pier, normally wrasse on ragworm, size 4 hooks on simple two hook paternoster. Very little current so ounce leads can be used, no need to cast more than a few yards, small weights are cheaper to lose in the weed and snags ( you can usually pull out of snags if you use a fine wire hook )
Float fishing pays off, fish a strip of mackerel about 2″ long and 1/2″ wide or a small sandeel between 9 and 12′ deep for mackerel, gar and maybe a surprise bass or black bream ( I had a bream of 1.5lb fishing there last Sunday )
I shall be fishing there on Wednesday if my plans work out
from the beach, after all of these easterlies…. Mainly weed I expect, with maybe a bass if you put in the hours. You would have more chance though by spinning or plugging around Peveril point.

Sandra asks…
is there such a Lake in Florida called ” Bass Lake”?
I fished at a Lake a long time ago and I have been trying to find it on a map and Internet with no straight answer.

admin answers:
Just do a google search on it rather than than waiting for people on here. I typed in bass lake florida and all of the info on the lake came up. Its in Davenport, sits off of hwy 27, etc etc. It seems to be a private/gated community.
